ACT GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Rosie leads the ACT Parks and Conservation Service and previously spent six years as Senior Director of the Office of Nature Conservation with ACT Government, responsible for conservation science, policy and strategic programs. Rosie is also an Adjunct Associate Professor with the Fenner School of Environment and Society, and has more than 20 years experience in international and national conservation research, analysis and policy development and have worked for leading international conservation organisations in collaboration with colleagues across the globe, including 7 years as Chair of the IUCN Sustainable Use and Livelihoods Specialist Group (SULi).

COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVE

Mumbi lives in Strathnairn and is very passionate about nature conservation, particularly including First Nations Peoples as she believes their ecological knowledge is vital to how we look after this land for our children and grandchildren. She also works for the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.

FIRST NATIONS REPRESENTATIVE

Michael is a proud Quandamooka man who first moved to Ngunnawal Country for university education. Michael has researched the intersection of Traditional and Contemporary Knowledge and worked with the Aboriginal Legal Service to support Aboriginal communities throughout the ACT and NSW.

As a senior foreign affairs officer, Michael’s roles as Deputy Head of Mission in Beirut and Deputy Consul-General in Mumbai involved high-level coordination, policy development, and stakeholder engagement. Michael also has an extensive legal background and is passionate about the environment.

TREASURER AND COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVE

Kathy is a chartered accountant, registered company auditor and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  Kathy is an executive director of the Mulloon Institute Limited, a leading research, education and advocacy charity focused on landscape and water cycle restoration. She is also a director and chair of the Finance and Audit Committee for both Plant Health Australia Limited and Landcare NSW Limited.  Through these companies Kathy has developed an appreciation of natural capital, biodiversity and the relationship to biosecurity.  From 1989 to 2019 she was a Director at Boyce Chartered Accountants.

YASS VALLEY COUNCIL

10 years as a local government councillor in Yass Valley representing her community. Chaired a variety of committees including statutory. Former Broadcast Television, Radio & Print journalist in regional and metropolitan markets; and former owner/editor of a local newspaper within Yass Valley. BA Communication Studies.
