Wombat Awareness Training with Yolandi Vermaak

Join Yolandi Vermaak, President and Founder of Wombat Rescue, to discover just how amazing this native species is!

In this training workshop, you will get the chance to learn about:

  • Different wombat species in Australia

  • Health and habitat requirements

  • The impacts of habitat destruction and other threats

  • Mange - how to spot it, report it and treat it

  • What to do if you find an injured or sick wombat

  • How to check a pouch for young wombats (pinkies) in the event the mother has been killed

  • What to do if you find a pinkie   

  • What you need to do to become a carer in the ACT

You will also get to meet three of Yolandi's rescue wombats who are on their journey to be released back in the wild.

Location: Meet at The Link, 1 McClymont Way, Strathnarin 
Cost: $10 per person
